The sunset this evening was spectacular! Couldn't resist snapping a quick shot with my phone.

Ambush Revisited
I was looking at the ambush shots from last week and noticed a few things I really didn't like about them. The overall effect of the Lightroom preset I used was ok, but it did some strange things to some of the edges. So I went back through and re-edited them, this time in color. Here's the original. And part 2 &3. Let me know which you like better, thanks!

Go Small or Go Home
Today while I was at my Parents' house everyone but me fell asleep. That was my cue to go outside and take some pictures! There wasn't really much to shoot, but I came across this Sassafras tree with one dead leaf. The sun was hitting it just right to make it glow like crazy.
The shots I was getting weren't really doing anything for me though. But I was using my Tamron 90mm macro lens, so I decided to do a macro. Holding the leaf up to the sun with my left hand, I took the shot with my right. The results were rather pleasing!

Ambush Parts 2 & 3
The air outside is so nice, Lego Bob decided to go out for a walk. Bob doesn't check the corner.....
Ambush Part 1
Bob is about to have a bad day.....
Red River National Wildlife Refuge
One of my favorite places to go on a photo walk is the Red River National Wildlife Refuge. It is an awesome place to take a photo walk. If you have a refuge near you, give them a visit!
At the Headquarters Unit in Bossier, LA there are LOTS of armadillos.

I spend more time at the Bayou Pierre unit. I have spent hours just walking and taking pictures!
This coyote scared me when he let loose an ear piercing howl about 100 yards from me!
So these are just a few of the shots I have gotten at "The Refuge". Hope you enjoy!
Ambush
Lego Bob rolls out of bed. He slept great last night! After a shower and some breakfast, Bob decides to let some fresh air in the room. Bob's day is about to take a turn for the worse.....

First Urban Exploration
A few years ago I read a book by David Morrell called Creepers about urban explorers. That was one of the best books I have ever read, and I have been interested in urban exploration ever since. Now I have connected with a lot of other photographers on Twitter, like Charles Dastodd and Scott Wood, and they have some excellent urban exploration images. They got me itching to give it a try, and I knew of an old school that has been shut down for a few years. So, I called around trying to get permission to enter, but everyone is on vacation. I decided to just go and see what was what. The side door was open, so I took a chance and went in. This place was a mess! But it looked like some awesome shots could be made, so I set up the tripod and started shooting. Here's a few shots that I think turned out ok.
You can see how rundown the place is in this shot.
Old Bathroom.
Fire alarm.
I have to admit, these are the only photos I got because I lost my nerve and left. Maybe next week I can get permission, and do a little more exploring! Thanks for looking.
